Submit your homework and extra credit to [email protected] with the subject "FF2 – HW5 – HOL ID" or "FF2 – EC5 – HOL ID." Please submit your homework and your extra credit SEPARATELY, with your HOL name and ID somewhere in the email. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The due date for the assignment is June 15. (I use this email for two Faery Tale related classes. So please label the work so I know which of the homework is which!)
Homework (maximum possible 30 points)
There are a number of options here, but you only need to do 30 points' worth. Anything over and I won't be counting them for extra credit (yeah, I see what you're trying to do...)
Fill-in-the-Blanks (10 points) - 1 point each
Recommendations (10 points)
I'm probably asking for my reading list to get even bigger than it already is, but here goes. Fantasy has always been my favorite niche when it comes to reading fiction (though I will read a lot more than that, believe me), and I'll probably read almost anything to do with fairy tale retellings. So if you have any recommendations as far as fairy-tale type stories (that I haven't already mentioned), send them my way! Describe the book a bit and tell me why you think I should read it, etc. Try for a minimum 100 words.
Opinion Time! (10 points) - 5 points each
Try to answer in 5 or more sentences each question. There is no right or wrong answer.
Quaint Quotations (20 points) - 2 points each
Now, I know you read a number of those quotes that littered the lessons. Well, it's time to play some identification with them! What you need to do here is to a) find out who or what the excerpt is talking about and b) tell me the name of the story/poem that the quote came from. Not so bad, yeah?
Fill-in-the-Blanks (10 points) - 1 point each
- To them, beauty can be _________ or ________.
- Men are wary of the _____, for fear of the dark and irresistible charms of the ________ and in avoidance of the sad results of falling for the ________.
- For the fae folk, _______ is ____.We'll find that there will always be occasion for ______, ________, and _______.

Extra Credit (30 points)
Choose ONE (1) of the following:
A) There are many instances where music and love feature within the stories of the fae folk. Find another of these faery-type instances where music or romance plays a major part in the story. You can use a book, a movie, or another tale. Give me some details about the story, and tell me why the music or romance is a major portion of the tale. Minimum 300 words.
B) Beauty and music are not the only elements that the fae folk are attracted to. In the old days, many left out milk on their doorsteps as a form of respect or a form of offering to the creatures that inhabit the parallel plane. Some others use jewelry or gold as a means of exchange. Your task here is to illustrate one thing that the fae might be attracted to. ORIGINAL WORK PLEASE!
C) Well, considering this is a creative option, you might as well get creative! Combine the element of music, love, and the faery world into one fantabulous story. You can either illustrate this story by using graphics, photography, and other mediums of artwork, or write a short story, poem, letter, song, etc. Get creative!
All graphics must be uploaded to an image server like Photobucket or Imageshack. I'd prefer not to open attachments, please and thank you!
D) Here's something a little different! Spot the differences in the picture! There are 10 in all. Please upload your graphics and send me a link of your answers. (3 points each)
