Submit your homework and extra credit to [email protected] with the subject "FF2 – HW4 – HOL ID" or "FF2 – EC4 – HOL ID." Please submit your homework and your extra credit SEPARATELY, with your HOL name and ID somewhere in the email. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The due date for the assignment is May 31. (I use this email for two Faery Tale related classes. So please label the work so I know which of the homework is which!)

Extra Credit (30 points)
Choose ONE (1) of the following:
A) A majority of my reading experience pinpoints a famous Seven Year King by the name of King Arthur. In Britannic folklore, the fabled King of the Britons is considered a Seven Year King, a worthy sacrifice to the Teind. Do you think this is a valid statement? Do a bit of digging and make your decision. Give reasons as to why you think Arthur is or is not a proper Seven Year King. Minimum 300 words.
B) The three authors I've mentioned in the lesson have placed their settings in reality-based locations: Romania, New Jersey/the United States, and Ukraine. Through the use of a bedroom, an uninhabited mound, and a forest, the characters in these stories fall and find themselves in the world of the Fey. Your task is to pick a reality-based location and illustrate the portal you would use to get to the faerie world. (Example: If I could draw, I'd probably draw my kitchen, and my portal to the otherworld would be found inside the refrigerator. Through that refrigerator, I'll see a land with trees of cake and chocolate...etc.). ORIGINAL WORK PLEASE!
C) Imagine pulling a Rip Van Winkle and sleeping for a couple decades. Or imagine a Briar Rose and sleeping for a hundred or so year. Clearly by the time you wake up, you're not only disoriented, you're also facing the dreadful change of era. Not to mention your fashion sense is no longer relevant! Anyway, here is where you imagine that you've just woken up from a deep sleep (try a time span of 10 years or more). What do you observe after the years of slumber? This is where you get creative, so anything from Photoshop to pictures to writing a memoir, journal entry, or even a poem or song is accepted!
All graphics must be uploaded to an image server like Photobucket or Imageshack. I'd prefer not to open attachments, please and thank you!
D) A most logical solution home! The faeries have been causing some trouble again, and this time they are opening portals in order to trick mortals into trading valuables with them. So far, five HOLers have fallen into their trap by walking into various locations. Hopelessly lost, the poor mortals encounter the conniving faeries who are willing to help. The catch, however, is that each HOLer will have to give something of theirs that they find important. Determine the names of the lost HOLers, the portal location that they entered, the faerie they encountered, and the sacrifice they gave in order to return home.
