Submit your homework and extra credit to [email protected] with the subject "FF – HW4 – HOL ID" or "FF – EC4 – HOL ID." Please submit your homework and your extra credit SEPARATELY, with your HOL name and ID somewhere in the email. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The due date for the assignment is December 31. (I use this email for two Faery Tale related classes. So please label the work so I know which of the homework is which!)
Homework (maximum possible 30 points)
There are a number of options here, but you only need to do 30 points' worth. Anything over and I won't be counting them for extra credit (yeah, I see what you're trying to do...)
Fill-in-the-Blanks (10 points) - 1 point each
Word Scrambler (10 points) - 2 points each
These are all words found in the lesson. (Hint: Not everything is one word).
Classify (10 points) - 1 point each
Determine what elemental group each creature belongs to (salamander, undine, sylph, or gnome). Be careful, two of them are not in the lesson (it's up to you to figure out what group they belong to anyway!)
Identify (20 points) - 2 points each
Below is a ballad some crazy bard cooked up. Determine which creature matches which line. Note: Be careful, some of these creatures are similar.

Extra Credit (30 points)
Choose ONE (1) of the following:
A) Goodness knows there are tons more faeries out there that can easily belong to any of the four elemental groups. Find two more faeries and classify them in the elemental groups (they don't have to be in the same group). Tell me why you think they belong to that group, and maybe describe each creature a bit. Minimum 300 words total.
B) Elements are a lot of fun, aren't they? Anyway, pick an element. Draw/paint an environment in that element (example: a certain forest scene for the gnome element) that might fit a creature of that element. ORIGINAL WORK PLEASE.
C) You're planning a tea party with four of your favorite elemental faeries. They're rather busy, though, so it's going to take a bit of persuasion on your part. Your job is to get them all to agree without having to customize each invitation to fit each temperament. Concoct your invitation! Write, design, bake, sing, record, etc. etc. you get the deal. Get them EXCITED over your tea party by being creative about it!
All graphics must be uploaded to an image server like Photobucket or Imageshack. I'd prefer not to open attachments, please and thank you!
D) Logic Puzzle Time! The fae folk are getting quite restless in the Otherworld, and it's about time they started whisking humans away to serve them for a number of years. They each devised a type of bribe or promise to entrap their chosen human, and eventually the humans succumbed! Determine the faery creature that succeeded in the capture, the respective human's name, the number of years of service (the years are all different and ranged from 17 to 22), and the kind of bribe or promise the creatures used to trap the human.

- The Merman didn’t use penguins as a bribe but managed to snag his human for 17 years. The Troll didn’t capture Kadina.
- The Duergar's human served longer than Kadina but was two years short compared to the human whose faery used fluffy slippers as a trap.
- Kyrie really likes penguins but she wasn't captured by the Troll. The faery that snagged 19 years of servitude captured Ulol, who wasn’t trapped by the promise of world domination.
- The Firebird didn’t capture Alexia, who wasn't bribed with cake.
- The promise of world domination was concocted by the Rusalka, who snagged two years of service more than the faery that captured Maya.
- The faery, who wasn’t the Firebird, bribing with shiny objects got two more years of servitude than the one that captured Kadina.
