Extra Credit 3 - Creative Work
I am rather peeved that you discarded me, only to replace me with someone else (and my own daughter, no less!). I would be scandalized by this behavior, but I must say, I did expect it of you. You always hoped I would believe the best of you, and for a while I did. The gifts you gave me were the dream of any young girl - dolls and toys and jewelry and dresses. I deluded myself into thinking that you liked me for me, and not for my fleeting youth. I believed that once I grew up, you would see me as an equal or even, goodness, a friend. You see, Mahzarin, I believed that you would wish to be my friend. I know my folly now. You could never view a mortal as a friend, could you? Your concept of "loyalty" only applies to other Fae. I suppose it was something that could never be, but I find myself still longing for your friendship.
Mahzarin, if I ever meant anything to you, please, don't do to my daughter what you have done to me. Please.
Your Little Girl
Slytherin First Year & Promising Student
Dear Mahzarin, eternally beautiful Queen of my dreams,
Although my hair is lovely and with shine it beams,
I’m truly sorry to tell you that I’m not who you believe,
Though it’s you to be blamed for this misperceive.
I might be gorgeous and quite handsome,
But I’m not one to be traded without a ransom.
To be fully honest, I’m not actually a pretty girl,
I’m not even a girl, but I couldn’t say no to a pearl,
So I went with you on this uncanny faery quest,
Thinking I’d be made an honorable Queen’s guest.
Though I get horrible dresses and the status of pet,
And you don’t even love me or take me to the vet.
I truly wish you were just a bit nicer and kinder,
So I send you this awesome poem as a reminder,
To tell you that I’m not a girl but a teenage boy,
And to let you know that I won’t stand being your toy.
If you ever want us to be more than just puppet friends,
Call me and our paths might twist and cross their ends.
I don’t want any dolls or pretty dresses made of silk,
And though I love your Castle’s delicious coconut milk,
Your personality is trying to suffocate the air out of me,
So unless you change, I believe with you I can no longer be.
