Submit your homework and extra credit to [email protected] with the subject "FF – HW2 – HOL ID" or "FF – EC2 – HOL ID." Please submit your homework and your extra credit SEPARATELY, with your HOL name and ID somewhere in the email. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The due date for the assignment is October 31. (I use this email for two Faery Tale related classes. So please label the work so I know which of the homework is which!)

Seelie or Unseelie (10 points)
There are many faery-inspired creatures in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Pick two different creatures, one for the Seelie Court, and another for the Unseelie Court. Tell me why you would classify them in each court. Minimum 100 words.
Extra Credit (30 points)
Choose ONE (1) of the following:
A) There are a lot of legends about selkies, especially when it comes to fishermen and unassuming women. Research a tale about a selkie. In your own words, tell me about the story. What happens after the selkie and the mortal fall in love? Is the union a tragedy or a happily-ever-after? If there are any offspring, what happens to them? Minimum 300 words.
B) There are certainly many art depictions of the faeries that belong to the Seelie and Unseelie courts. Choose a faery that was mentioned in the lesson. Draw your own artistic interpretation of how that faery looks like. ORIGINAL WORK PLEASE.
C) You're a faery creature who is neither truly good nor truly evil. But you're tired of being put in the middle. You've finally chosen a side, but when you asked to join the particular Court, they tell you to prove your worth. Which side did you choose? How would you go about proving yourself to that side? This is a creativity task, so come up with something creative to show them what kind of faery creature you really are!

D) The Seelie and Unseelie courts are in a tizzy. Of all the magically inept things that they could have done, they mix up their rune-work. Now higher-ranks have no idea which creature belongs to which court. When asked for their names and "occupations" again, the faery creatures stomped their feet and fled in a hurry, yelling out only choice sentences that are supposed to help the higher-ranks split them apart. And unfortunately, all the higher-ranked faeries have gone on vacation. So you're stuck with the statements and the responsibility to classify them in the right place. Better hurry, the dullahan are itching to behead people right, left, and faery center.

- Hellooooo, did you look at this fine piece of faery figgur? Where do you think I belong?
- I didn't do it! Though, that is a pretty ingenious piece of mischief...
- *string of expletives*
- Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I hope things are back together soon. I wouldn't want my human friend caught up in this!
- I'm a Seelie, of course. What? Didn't hear that. Are you saying I don't have the face? I look fine. You have a warped sense of beauty.
- I am not amused by this. I don't have time for games. There are mortals out there that need smashing.
- Hmm? Oh, yes. Sorry, what was the question? I was distracted. There's this scrumptious fisherman I want to play with. He thinks I'm beautiful, you see. *giggles*
- Look, see that guy? He's mine. What am I going to do with him? What's it to you?
- Hahaha, I don't envy yer position at all. In fact, I hope ye screw up. Gives me more excuse to tempt mortals to do my bidding.
- Yeah, sorry about that. I felt like changing a rune and that seemed to have backfired. My bad.
